A leading Chinese producer of 2-Acrylamido-2-Methylpropane Sulfonic Acid (AMPS), is responding to significant global demand increases by expanding its production capacity. Driven by growth in key application sectors such as oilfield chemicals (enhanced recovery, scale inhibition), water treatment polymers, and high-performance personal care ingredients, the company confirms construction has commenced on a new dedicated AMPS synthesis line within its Shandong facility. This expansion, projected to add 10,000 metric tons of annual capacity by late 2025, aims to solidify their position as a primary global supplier. Yade Wahida cites its advanced proprietary sulfonation process and stringent quality control as key factors enabling this growth, ensuring reliable supply chains for international partners facing sourcing challenges.
